I am a First Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate, a Second Dan Black Belt in Shito-Ryu Karate, A white belt in Kyokushin Karate and a White belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu. Amongst these martial arts I also studied Muay Thai for 6 months and also learnt how to box. To relearn everything is probably going to be difficult … Osu.

Bro, how’s Kyokushin compared to Shotokan? I have a bb 1st dan in Shotokan (it was more than 10 years ago) and I’m thinking of joining Kyokusyin Katsu Dojo in Gombak coz it’s nearer to my place than Sensei Micheal Ding’s place. Some people say Kyokushin in boring coz no punch in the head bla bla bla, but since you’re experienced in 3 diff styles of karate, what do you have to say?

Hi. I came across your blog while looking up the 1st All-Asia Open Kyokushin-kan Karate Championship. My friends and I are keen on watching the event but, while there seems to be a fair bit on how to register, there doesn’t seem to be much information on how to actually obtain tickets.

hey chris…enjoying life in kyokushin?…the old members, including myself, used to train with him at the old nostalgic hombu at PJ dojo for sometime with less than 5 ppls at most…and it was great….time has moved on but shihan has instill with us the kyokushin way whilst we teach other martial arts that would last foreever…stick with him…he will show you the way….
